Fifty plus years of floating rivers of the West ranging from the Colorado to ditches has resulted in some opinions on how best to travel open river corridors. Photos demonstrate the evolution of designs.

The boat currently for sale is the gray, blunt tube cataraft. This boat has done the Salmon, San Juan, and Desolation Canyon since it was designed and built in 2019. It will sleep two people and haul all their gear for 7+ days depending on what they bring.  The goal with this design is a superlight cat that performs more like a high performance sports car, than a heavy cargo raft.

Price includes aluminum frame, tubes, two drop bags, two large coolers, sleeping platform, and all straps to rig. The new buyer will need to purchase either 10' oars for sit rowing, or 11' oars if you want to stand up row.

New frames, as well as completely rigged boats ready to load and go, are available with prices dependent on selected components and size. Lead time for delivery ranges from 90 to 180 days depending on supply chain.

Price for a new frame/boat is total material cost plus 25% for labor. This is for a ready to load cataraft. Specially designed fly in models are available for those traveling via bush plane to their put-ins and from their take outs.

Boat will need to be picked up at shop with delivery also an option depending on location.

Please visit @easysuprack on Instagram for occasional pictures of a 17' ultra-lightweight expedition cataraft Grand Canyon Boat. The frame for this boat, without floor, selected oarlocks, or oars is under 100lbs. When totally rigged it should be somewhere around 300lbs with coolers, dry boxes, oars, etc.
